MARRIAGE REQUISITES

1. FOR A WEDDING AT THE PALACE, though permit from other parishes is not essential, nevertheless we insist that, following the policy of Parish orientation (or Parish Consciousness), the concerned couple must duly inform their respective Pastors about their intended marriage at the Palace.

2. PERMISSION FROM THE CHANCER is needed if you would desire a priest other than the one approved by the Chancery to officiate in your wedding. Kindly inform the CHANCERY at least 5 days before your wedding day. The couple shall take charge of giving remuneration to the priest.

3. INTERVIEW of the couples: to be done separately.

4. MARRIAGE FEE- P 5,000.00 to be PAID before the wedding date.

5. The following are to be submitted at least FIVE (5) days before the wedding date:
a. BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE (no xerox); issued within the last THREE (3) months;
b. CONFIRMATION CERTIFICATE (xerox not accepted);
c. MARRIAGE LICENSE (takes TEN (10) days to secure); or CIVIL CONTRACT COPY, for those who are already civilly married; or ARTICLE 34 AFFIDAVIT
for those couples living together for at least FIVE (5) years;
d. Names and Addresses of SPONSORS (LIMIT THE SPONSORS - 3 PAIRS). An additional charge of P20.00 for every excess sponsor;
e. "TAWAG" or BANNS
f. DISPENSATION from impediments.

6. COUPLE MUST PREPARE THEMSELVES:
a. Spiritually by consultations, previous confession and constant prayer; this is an important event in your life history, so let your parents attend your wedding;
b. MUSIC and DECORATIONS are to be taken care of by the COUPLE. Only LITURGICAL SONGS are allowed for the sake of the sacredness of the occassion;
c. ONE (1) pair of wedding rings and ARRHAE THIRTEEN (13) pieces of 25c or 50c or P1.00 coin.

7. Those who, for reasons of solemnity, would wish to add or modify the approved RITE for Marriage, must seek approval from the Liturgical Commission. Without such approval, no one may celebrate Marriage outside of the already approved MARRIAGE RITE for the Philippines.
